Wolfgang Bosbach, Fritz Rudolf Körper and Wolfgang Waschulewski are strengthening the KÖTTER security advisory council

Hans-Helmut Janiesch, retired managing police / criminal director, is continuing as a member of the security advisor council, a post he has held since 2009 / Friedrich P. Kötter: "Gold standard experts will be instigators for the independent security industry legislation planned by the grand coalition"

Essen/Düsseldorf. For almost two decades, the KÖTTER security advisory board has encouraged dialogue between the state sector and the security industry, has been a motor for collaboration opportunities with authorities and service providers, and has stood for high quality and training standards in the security sector. Now the circle of experts has rebuilt itself, and has been strengthened by Wolfgang Bosbach, Fritz Rudolf Körper and Wolfgang Waschulewski. The committee is completed by Hans-Helmut Janiesch, who has been a security advisory council representative since 2009.

"These gold standard experts from internal politics, the security industry and police authorities will make the crucial decisions for the further development of the security industry with their wealth of experiences and collective knowledge," believes Friedrich P. Kötter, administrative board at KÖTTER SE & Co. KG Security, Düsseldorf.

The planned implementation of independent security industry legislation by the grand coalition is a major focus. "This is a major opportunity for our sector, which our family company has been engaged in for years, together with the federal association, and we must become even more active in helping to shape it, in view of the new tailwind from the government," states Friedrich P. Kötter. Specific legal regulations - especially for protecting critical infrastructures (e.g. pension institutions, conferences and public transport) - are suitable instruments in this regard for promoting the position of private providers as a crucial factor for internal security. "Especially as specific legislation also helps to set the necessary requirements for service providers, which in turn sets high quality and training standards in stone throughout the entire industry. The industry would not function without them," explains the vice president of the Federal Security Industry Association.

The members of the KÖTTER security advisory board
- Wolfgang Bosbach:
The 65-year-old has been a member of the German Bundestag for over 20 years, and amongst other things, has worked as a chair of the Committee on Internal Affairs from 2009 to 2015. "I am proud that our family company was able to acquire one of Germany's most well-known internal affairs experts in Wolfgang Bosbach," emphasises Friedrich P. Kötter. "I genuinely believe that as a lateral political thinker, he will make major waves in increased co-operation between the state and the private sector, to make use of important opportunities, such as the extreme importance of easing the burden carried by the police."
- Fritz Rudolf Körper: The 63-year-old was a member of the Bundestag for over two decades. As the parliamentary state secretary for Otto Schily, the Federal Interior Minister, he made his mark on internal politics under Chancellor Gerhard Schröder between 1998 and 2005. He then became the deputy chair of the SPD parliamentary group (2005-2009) and, amongst other things, a member of the Defence Committee and Parliamentary Supervisory Body (2009-2013). "In Fritz Rudolf Körper, we have one of Germany's most experienced interior politicians among our ranks, who is very familiar with the workings of our parliament," says Friedrich P. Kötter.
- Hans-Helmut Janiesch: The retired managing police / criminal director has been a member of the KÖTTER security advisory board since 2009, and was significantly involved in the initiation of the Essen Security Partnership (now known as the Ruhr Security Partnership), in which the police and KÖTTER Security were among those represented, in his function as head of the Emergency Response and Prosecution Departments of the Essen police headquarters (1998 to 2007).
- Wolfgang Waschulewski: The long-time managing director of the KÖTTER company group, and current honorary president of the Federal Security Industry Association (BDSW), has been a decisive factor in professionalising the security industry, through his multi-faceted management work in the sector and his BDSW management posts, and has established it as a recognised internal security pillar.

Supporting independent senior management in training and new projects
The technical know-how of the KÖTTER security advisory council has also greatly benefited the company itself for many years. The members specifically assist the senior management of KÖTTER Security in collaborations with the public sector, and providing advice on conceiving and implementing new projects in the field of critical infrastructures. They also help with creating, updating and implementing training and further training measures within the company academy.
