Düsseldorf/Cologne/Berlin. At the 50th anniversary meeting in Berlin today, the BDSW (Bundesverband der Sicherheitswirtschaft/Federal Association of the Security Economy) awarded the "Employee of the year" prize. The second prize went to Süren Konakyan who has worked at the Cologne branch of KÖTTER SE & Co. KG Security, Düsseldorf, for five years and currently implements plant security for a major client.
"This is an example of a employee going above and beyond the call of duty and providing assistance by way of vigilant and emphatic conduct", emphasises BDSW Vice President Lutz Kleinfeldt in his speech. "Süren Konakyan has engaged the caller, listened to her, drawn the correct conclusions and implemented the relevant action. His actions may well have saved her life. His intuition and motivated response impressed the jury."
The jury honoured the quick response during the incident last October in which the specialist for protection and security became the rescuer of a helpless caller during his gate shift. The agitated older women, who had accidentally called the wrong number, reported that she had fallen and had already waited more than half an hour for the rescue services. But in her panic she was not able to pass on the precise address.
The 37-year old immediately called the police, passed on the telephone number and approximate address information, on the basis of which the police were able to determine a precise location. The informed rescue services found the women a short time later in her apartment with considerable injuries and transferred her to the hospital.
The value of this dedication was also emphasised by Roland vom Brauck, Managing Director of KÖTTER SE & Co. KG Security, Düsseldorf: "Helping in a critical situation should be a matter of course. However, many of us see every day that this is all too frequently not the case. For this reason, our family company is particularly proud to have such a responsible employee in our ranks." KÖTTER SE & Co. KG Security, Düsseldorf, has honoured this exemplary conduct of their employee with a premium.
