Fire extinguishing equipment
Fire extinguishers are hand-operated fire extinguishers with a total weight of up to 20 kilograms, designed to quickly extinguish fires in their early stages. There are different types for different fire classes, such as powder, foam, water, grease, metal, and CO2.
Fire extinguishers must be clearly visible and easily accessible, especially in larger buildings such as restaurants, assembly halls, kindergartens, schools, and business premises. They must be regularly checked for functionality in accordance with ASR 2.2.
Currently, the trend toward environmentally friendly, fluorine-free fire extinguishers and the upcoming new EU legislation must be taken into account. KÖTTER Services offers sustainable fire extinguishers – without the addition of fluorosurfactants – for fire protection classes A, B, and F.
Maintenance: The most important points
- Maintenance at least every 2 years, in accordance with 14406
- Observance of inspection intervals according to the Betr.SichV every 5 years (in practice every 4 years)
- Repair services
- Confirmation of service by preparing inspection reports and affixing inspection stickers, and if necessary, a location list
