Essen (09.04.2025). KÖTTER Security has successfully completed the certification process in accordance with the European standard series DIN EN 17483 Parts 1-3 (Private Security Services – Critical Infrastructure Protection). This makes the family-owned company the only German security service provider to meet both the general and sector-specific requirements for airports and seaports. At the same time, the audit was carried out in accordance with DIN 77200.
“These certifications emphasise our leading role in the security sector and confirm the high quality of our services,” said Friedrich P. Kötter, Chairman of the Board. “In this context, continuous investment in the qualifications of our employees and the development of innovative solutions are essential when it comes to meeting the increasing requirements in the area of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).”
Successful, multiple certification
KÖTTER Security has recently been able to further strengthen its expertise in high-quality Critical Infrastructure Protection by becoming certified according to the DIN EN 17483 series of standards (Private Security Services – Critical Infrastructure Protection). The audit for all standards published to date, DIN EN 17483-1, DIN EN 17483-2 and DIN EN 17483-3, once again emphasised the leading role in the security sector. This makes the family-owned company the only German provider (and one of only a few in Europe) to be certified for the sector-specific standard Part 1 “General Requirements”, as well as Part 2 “Aviation Security Services” and Part 3 “Maritime Security Services”. The DIN EN 17483 series of standards will be supplemented by further, sector-specific standards in the future, and will provide a uniform basis, for example, for the quality-oriented tendering and design of security services in the implementation of the European CER Directive, which in Germany is implemented under the KRITIS Umbrella Act.
The parallel audits conducted in accordance with DIN 77200 Parts 1 and 2 are proof of our consistent quality orientation. While Part 1 regulates the basic requirements for security service providers, Part 2 focuses on extended requirements for special service areas and companies with special security requirements. In doing so, the company not only fulfils the legal and normative requirements, but also consciously sets higher standards for its operational procedures, the selection and training of employees, and the management of safety-related processes.
