-> IHK distinguishes Miss Lena Kristen as the 'North Rhine-Westphalia State's Best Award' in Duisburg for the profession of 'skilled employee for protection and security'.
-> More than 430 apprentices have been trained to be skilled employees and managers in the future since the profession started 15 years ago.
Dortmund, Duisburg and Essen (13th November 2017). Miss Lena Kristen, who is one of KÖTTER Security's apprentices, is among the top trainees in North Rhine-Westphalia. This employee of Fritz Kötter SE & Co. KG's West German security service in the Dortmund branch office was honoured last Thursday, on 9th November, with the 'NRW State's Best Award for 2017', which was presented by the Industrial and Commercial Chamber (IHK) in the recognized profession of 'skilled employee for protection and security'. The distinction was awarded by Mr. Burkhard Landers, President of the Lower Rhine Industrial and Commercial Chamber, who acted as the host of the State's Best Award this year.
The 23 year-old apprentice, who had completed her training with the mark of 'very good', is therefore among the 240 top trainees in this most densely populated German state. The company gave a prize to Miss Lena Kristen as recognition of her extraordinary service. She is now working as a safety officer in the logistical area of a well-known major customer in Dortmund.
"The distinction as the State's Best is a great recognition that I did not expect" said Miss Lena Kristen. "I am especially glad about this honour. I would like to thank my superiors and colleagues for their support at the same time."
The family-owned company currently employs more than 160 trainees in nine professions
"We congratulate Miss Lena Kristen very heartily and we wish her a lot of success with her future duties. We are ideally placed for the future with such qualified and committed apprentices." said Mr. Andreas Kaus, Managing Director of Fritz Kötter SE & Co. KG's West German security service. "This renewed honour is the lasting confirmation of our strategy for training and personnel development at the same time." The KÖTTER Group's training operation is presently employing 160 trainees in this way in nine professions: businessman or businesswoman for office management, personnel services businessman or businesswoman, electrician for IT and communications, specialized information scientist in the discipline of applications development, specialized information scientist in the discipline of systems integration, electronic technician for IT systems, vehicle mechatronics, skilled employee for protection and security, as well as building cleaner.
The training course to become a skilled employee for protection and security that was established 15 years ago signified taking a quite decisive step while doing so, in order to make the professions that are relevant to security even more professional in the sector of security. Almost 350 qualified apprentices alone have been trained by the KÖTTER Group's training operation in this profession up to now. There are 85 further apprentices throughout Germany at the moment, who are enrolled in a three-year training course to qualify as skilled employees and managers in future. The basic components of this course are protection and security (e.g., analysing potential dangers), business and management economics, legal fundamentals and cooperation in companies (personnel planning, among other things).
There will also be training to become an IT systems businessman from next summer onwards
Apprentices are being sought for the training year of 2018 to 2019 in order to become skilled employees for protection and security, as well as apprentices for further professions. These apprenticeships also include training to become an IT systems businessman or businesswoman, for which the family-owned company is establishing the tenth training course.
