Friedrich P. Kötter and Chief of Police Frank Richter in dialog

Frank Richter, Chief of Police of Essen und Mülheim an der Ruhr, was the guest at KÖTTER Security’s stand at “security 2016”, the world’s largest security trade show. The family-run company will be exhibiting at this key industry meeting in Essen from 27 to 30 September.

The visit focused on the exchange of opinions between Friedrich P. Kötter, amongst others, Board of Directors for the Westdeutscher Wach- und Schutzdienst Fritz Kötter SE & Co. KG and Andreas Kaus, executive director of the Westdeutscher Wach- und Schutzdienst Fritz Kötter SE & Co. KG.

The discussion revolved around the cooperation under the Ruhr security partnership, which has been in place for more than ten years, and involves the police force, KÖTTER Security, Essener Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft (EWG) [Essen Economic Development Agency] and Mülheim & Business GmbH. In line with the motto, “two heads are better than one”, the focus is on a regular exchange of information and specific contributions by private security staff to support police work based on current laws. A security officer from KÖTTER Security has already been recognized for their exemplary conduct as “employee as the year” by the security partnership.

MORE THAN 2,500 PARTICIPANTS TRAINED IN MUTIGER COURSES

Moreover, the Chief of Police learned about the work of the muTiger foundation, a joint initiative by the KÖTTER Group and the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) to promote civil courage. The central pillars are free training courses, which have already been accessed by more than 2,500 participants in the Rhine-Ruhr area. Friedrich P. Kötter, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees: “We are proud that our program for interactive behavioral training, which prepares participants for all possible everyday scenarios and reaps rewards in the population. This gives participants the courage to continue to work against the still widespread culture of looking away.”
