Accordance with § 5, 8 und 9 of the air traffic safety act

New regulations regarding aviation security duties and responsibilities became effective in January 2005 with the enactment of the Aviation Security Act. This statute is an attempt to increase security in civilian aviation.

KÖTTER Aviation Security is authorized to carry out the following security services in accordance with paragraphs 5, 8 and 9 of the aviation security statute by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior ( Bundesministerium des Innern or BMI):

  • deployment of tracking dogs (Drugs, explosives) (par. 8, par. 9)
  • airplane surveillance and access controls for aircraft (par. 9)
  • sealing off airplanes (par. 9)
  • surveillance of premises and patrolling non-public areas (par. 8)
  • person, luggage and hand luggage checks (par. 5)
  • person and goods checks and also car controlls (par. 8)
  • x-ray checks of freight and courier contents (par. 9)
  • safeguard of parked airplanes (par. 9)
  • safeguard of the preliminary control area (par. 8)
  • inspection of aircraft freight area and passenger cabines (par. 9)
