Commitment to protecting the environment and careful use of natural resources are firmly anchored in the corporate philosophy of KÖTTER Services. As a family company we also regard it as our responsibility to preserve the environment for future generations.

Therefore we have undertaken to implement following environmental principles:

• It would be inconceivable for us to act in any way that is not in compliance with valid environmental laws or regulations. On environmental issues we place our trust in cooperation with customers, suppliers and the authorities, and in a frank and open dialogue with them.

• Our employees receive training to sensitize them to environmental issues.

• We regularly calculate and assess the impact of our products and services on the environment; when developing and introducing new services and procedures we employ methods that are in keeping with technical progress.

• An important criterion for our purchasing department is the environmental safety of the products. KÖTTER Cleaning, for example, has chosen environment-friendly cleansers and maintenance products as their standard items.

• To preserve limited resources, we reduce energy consumption and pollution (emission of CO2) by using fuel-efficient, low-polluting vehicles. Furthermore, wherever practicable, we use vehicles with alternative means of propulsion.

• All our employees receive useful tips about how fuel consumption can be reduced with simple means, for example with optimized route planning and by avoiding unnecessary travel.

• We reduce and avoid waste by separating recyclable materials from other waste. Our waste is disposed of in correct, professional manner by authorized companies. Reusable waste is taken to the appropriate enterprises or recycling firms.

• If requested we will introduce certified health, safety and environment management systems (SCC/SGU) for specific customers. Our petrochemicals unit has successfully practiced a certified SCC/SGU management system for many years.

We have over 80 branches at 50 different locations all over Germany; they have all undertaken to make an active contribution to the protection of our environment and practice our environmental principles accordingly.
